Website Help : I Need Help Adding The Google+ Widget To My Blog!

I have seen, a lot, and I mean A LOT of fellow bloggers having issues with adding a Google+ badge to their blog. If you don’t already know, Google Friend Connect is phasing out for non-Blogger blogs, and so right now there’s a mad rush to get businesses / brands / blogs all set up on Google+, our replacement. When I tried to add my Google+ badge the first time, I broke my blog and had to restore it from backup.

I have come up with an incredibly simple solution to all this, and wanted to share it. A badge / widget is just an element for a website / blog /desktop, etc. The Google+ blog badge’s purpose is to allow your blog’s readers to add you to their circles quickly and easily. Why not just do a simple image link to your Google+ profile? You can literally make an incredibly simple knock-off of Google+’s badge that absolutely should not be difficult, and here’s how:

Okay, forget about all that unnecessary code and how to work Google+’s badge page and adding code to your website’s header!
1. Save this image and upload it wherever you normally upload your images for your website:

2. Simply add this code where you want the Google+ badge to appear. Change the coding to have your url to the image above and the url to your Google+ profile reflected within. This coding will make the widget centered, so if you don’t want it centered, simply delete align=”center” from the code:

<div align=”center”><a target=”_blank” href=”https://plus.google.com/YOURGOOGLE+URLHERE”/><img src=”http://www.YOURWEBSITE.com/gplus.jpg” border=”0″/><br/>
<b>Follow Me</b><br/>
on Google+</a></div>

That’s it! Easy peasy, right? Please stumble or share this post if you found it helpful!

This is pretty much what I did but used the Google+ actual picture.
