Stretch Marks Are A Part Of Growing, Becoming A Mother
I don’t know many women that like to talk about stretch marks. They are viewed as a flaw of some unattainable perfection, so I don’t see what the big deal is. I first got stretch marks on my hips and thighs just while growing up. When I had my first son, I got a little more in those same regions. With my last son, I don’t think I gained any more, but I probably did. The point is: we all have them! I don’t know a single person that doesn’t, and if a person says they don’t, they are probably lying.
Anyway, I was researching online the different methods people use to make the appearance of stretch marks less visible. I don’t really think you can get rid of them, but there are probably products out there that will lessen the severity of their appearance. When I was pregnant, I used cocoa butter in hopes of preventing stretch marks. I don’t know if it helped, but it didn’t work completely (obviously). I’ve seen a lot of different creams advertised everywhere, so it’s hard to separate the hype from what’s real. One product I kept seeing online that is used to treat stretch marks is called Trilastin. I had never heard of this before. I looked up trilastin reviews to see if I could find out more about the brand of stretch mark creams, and saw that some people swear by this stuff! Have you heard of it or tried it? Did it work for you? I’d be interested in hearing more from someone who has personally used it.
To be honest, I’m not all that worried about my stretch marks. I affectionately refer to them as my “zebra stripes” and am completely aware that there are probably just a part of life. Still, I wouldn’t mind lessening the visibility of their appearance a bit.
Do you know of any other stretch mark remedies that you can personally vouch for? Please leave me a comment and let me know!
