Review & Giveaway – Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats 5lb Bag Giveaway!

You guys should know by now that I’m a huge fan of Tropical Traditions, and I LOVE every single product of theirs that I have ever tried. Well, not too long ago I was way excited to learn that I had won a whopping 5 lb. bag of Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats. My family loves, and I mean LOVES, oatmeal!

Tropical Traditions has already been so kind as to sponsor two giveaways here in the past. Can you believe they were so awesome as to offer to give one of my readers a bag of Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats just like the bag I had won? Well, believe it! Read on to find out more!

Okay, so I have to admit: I wasn’t sure exactly what Thick Rolled Oats were when I entered the contest. I knew it was from Tropical Traditions, and you could probably make oatmeal with it. I’m not really the kitchen savvy person in my family (that would be my fiance) but I’m trying to get better!

When my Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats arrived, I was excited to put them to action. I researched how I should cook them, as well as different recipes involving Thick Rolled Oats. I learned that some people eat the oats raw, so you can use them in making food without heat, or even with heat if you’d like. You can get delicious recipes using Tropical Traditions products at FreeCoconutRecipes.com.

The first thing I set out to do was make oatmeal. I’ve tried cooking it in the microwave and on the stove. Honestly, I prefer cooking on the stove over the microwave. It was super, super easy both ways and I cooked it very similar to how you would cook instant oatmeal: I added a little water, added any other desired ingredients, and heated it until the consistency was how I like it.

That is where the similarities to instant oatmeal ended. Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats puts instant oatmeal to a brutal shame.  The quality of the oats is noticeably better in texture and taste. If you prefer oatmeal with more flavor, you can add fresh fruit, brown sugar, cinnamon, sugar, milk, or butter to your oatmeal.

Oatmeal isn’t the only thing you can make with Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats. You can use them to make granola bars, your own custom cereal, meatloaf…the possibilities are endless! I’ve made some AMAZING peanut butter oatmeal no-bake cookies with them!

They never last longer than a day...

Our family can’t get enough of Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats, and it’s a good thing because 5lbs is a very plentiful bag of oats. We still have plenty left for future food projects and we’ve been eating on them fairly regularly. Once again, I am very impressed with Tropical Traditions. I highly recommend Tropical Traditions Organic Thick Rolled Oats to anyone that enjoys food containing oats.
