Advice For Entering Sweepstakes

I have spent the last three years enthusiastically entering sweepstakes. Along the way, I’ve learned many things. I’ve decided to share what I know, any tips or hints, shortcuts, etc. with my readers here at Goldilocs’ Sweepstakes & Reviews in hopes of helping you win! I’m going to start out a little basic and slow, but soon I’m going to publish some of my very close-guarded sweepstakes secrets to entering. To begin with, I will give you a few key pieces of advice on entering sweepstakes:

1. Stay Optimistic, Don’t Stress! Everyone has dry spells. Sometimes we have really, really long dry spells. Don’t worry, it won’t last. You WILL win again if you keep playing, and who knows…it just might be that big win you’ve been dreaming of! Sweepstaking should be fun, so have fun with it. Switch up the way you enter sweepstakes if you get bored. Some days I do instant wins, other days I enter blog giveaways. Some days I do them alphabetically, other times I enter them according to their highest ratings.

2. Life Comes First. When you’re on a big winning streak, it’s hard to pull yourself away. When you’re winning, you want to just keep entering and keep on winning, but don’t get too carried away.

3. Enter Daily Or As Often As Possible. I tell myself this over and over: “You can’t win if you don’t play.” I’ve won giveaways that had a high amount of entries and I had only entered once. If you don’t try, you have no chance at winning.

4. Check Your Spam Folder. Check your spam filter. Again, check your spam folder and do it often. I have had wins sitting in my spam folder many, many times that I would have missed out on if I had not checked my spam folder.

5. Read The Rules. I have been guilty of not doing this. Halfway through entering a sweepstakes I’ll finally catch a glimpse of the rules and realize I’ve been entering incorrectly. This is most likely a small headache for the host of the giveaway, and can result in all of your entries being disqualified…no bueno!

6. Don’t Be Greedy. Just my advice. If you’ve won something in the past, I think it’s better to not keep entering to win it again. Give other people the chance to win since you already have. Don’t enter sweepstakes for the sake of a win. Only enter sweepstakes for prizes you really want and would really use.

Happy sweeping, everyone!

Thanks for sharing information about a world I have never really entered into. The world of sweepstakes. My husband and I have gone through a recession related financial hardship for more than two years now. I had never thought to relieve some of that burden through entering to win things for free. I looked at your winnings page and it seems you’ve done pretty well over the past few years. I’ll start exploring this option a bit more. Every little bit helps, right? :) It’s so nice to connect with you through voiceboks.

Many blessings to you and your family,
Rosann
